Welcome to this blog that you want to lend a helping those who desperately seek for solutions to the Cobra alarms installed in their vehicles.

Throughout this blog I will try to provide hints on how to tune your alarm, change the cell 's command and the way you can check out the different types of false alarms that often make us wear slippers, wear the robe interrupting whatever it was we were to do (it's annoying when we're in pretty good) and of course we can not forget the names of our neighbors call us so many are the times that the bastard remembers the car start to scream for help.

The most persistent there down to the street turn off the alarm, wait a minute, well, sometimes even feel like smoking a cigarette, come back on again, one more ride, and seems to be okay until the next call.

The worst is when we do not have patience for this, and do not even smoke, let the damn car, we endorse the neighbors names previously spoken, turn off the alarm said leaving the car like that both at the mercy of the vultures, that increasingly proliferate in night in search of a radio (less common these days), navigation system or anything else that we in the habit inside the vehicle.

It was to protect those things that we decided to install the alarm was not, well I know that the reason was not always this, often the decision was taken because the car had no remote control and when it rains really is not comfortable, and was me to forget the electric windows, walk always in a hurry and many are the times that the ignition switch off, we get the
key and when we look, the jar was opened, as it can not guess we'll leave it?

Of course, at the time of writing this blog about the alarms is fashionable carjacking and why the search for greater security at the expense of comfort came to weigh on the decisions.
But on the subject of carjacking and the changes that alarms alarms and specifically charges had to suffer another post so we will gather more information.

Another concern of most snake owners alarm is battery replacement and subsequent reset command.

Most people find that the command does not work from a distance usually hastens to seek alternate cell, it usually looks a watchmaker closest readily measure its voltage and replace it, the problem comes next, what was usually a problem drive away has become the total absence of drive, right?

I can not forget the snake control boxes (plastic wrap) that are damaged and normally we insist on keeping in disrepair until it crashes, you know that only cost about five dollars and a new command alarm charges are forty because it could have saved some money.

I believe these are the most common problems to all users of these alarms and will deepen in future posts so that these issues are no longer problem.
Feel free to leave comments on any questions you wish clarified, more technical topics such as specific schemes will also be discussed.

Thank you for visiting this blog about snake alarms.

Good afternoon,

Where in the country is it?

Henry says in June 6th 2009 at 9:48 pm

Lisbon Area, but if there is online, can also be ...

admin June 7th 2009 at 10:18 pm

Online, only if it is on Ebay.
In Lisbon, any company that installs alarms can give you the commands.
I could send you by mail, but I think with postage and all that would be expensive.
Do a search, often appears in advertising installation companies.

Thank you, I'll try one then try installing company, because on ebay, only found in England and only sell to the UK.

Again, thank you.

The model states that alarm was not sold in Portugal, I think the equivalent is the 3100 Globe series, make sure that this arrangement is valid.
I have an alarm but this scheme is in Russian :) , The translation seems to me that I modeled on the 3198 Cobra.

When I close the car with the command (BMW) sometimes he spent a few beeps 5 seconds, not as if the alarm is, it gives me the feeling that is due to Aluma or glass door has been opened, but not the car is completely closed, even if I re-open all the doors and close the situation remains. The only way I found to resolve the situation was to hold the button (command) to close the car by pressing for a few brief seconds.

Any Cobra alarm installer can provide you with the control boxes to replace the old, the price is around 5 to 6 euros, I think.
Meet a company in the city of Porto called autostereo do not know if they work with alarms snake.

He did not mention the year of the Nissan Almera, if the model with source command should be installed a Cobra alarm model 3868 or G368 to work with its original remote, but maybe we can get around to it.

I confirm this situation.

As I said earlier in this vehicle should be installed an alarm model 3868, but check what kind of command central locking, if it is negative just connect the orange / white and purple / white to ground, the orange wire connects to the open while the purple wire connects to the closing, if positive is to connect two wires to the white list to a positive (+30), the gray / black and yellow / black do not care in this setting.

I believe that correspond to schemes E and D in the manual.

Hope this helps

Pedro Esteves says in September 12th 2009 at 9:38 pm

Once again thank you
But I do not know which is the connecting wires in the car (there is a cable with 3 wires coming from the barrel of the lock that has no current) have deduced that the scheme was a central locking negative or positive

thanks anyway

Make sure that the right door also closes all others.

Pedro Esteves says in September 13th 2009 at 9:32 pm

admin September 13th 2009 at 9:48 pm

In this case you can not use any of the schemes that said, you must use a pistol as he had in another car or the polarity inversion scheme in order to make a "bypass" the original central locking module.

I have the wiring diagram, and I find this model on the net. I found some diagrams of Cobra 5891 to 5893 or 5701 or 5903. Will any of these equal (wiring) to 4B5810STA? Alternatively, it could extract from my schemes? The commands are two rectangular buttons (5557stb in printed circuit board)

Antonio Machado says in February 8th 2010 at 10:40 pm

Good
I've tried both of these actions, in both two commands. Nothing happens. As if turned off (not, I confirmed). The box includes the siren and the command center, being equal to the alarm of others have mentioned. I suspected a fuse, hidden away somewhere. But the plug that connects the center will come in several pin 12V. Or fail to recognize (all) commands or, more likely burned up. (No traces of it, or the components on the circuit board itself). With the moving car, and twice in a row, gave orders to close the windows. I stopped and turned off the alarm with the key. He did not return to work.

admin February 8th 2010 at 11:24 pm

Should have any problems with the siren switch contacts, is what it seems.
If you have current and pasta, red and black wires respectively disassemble the horn and check the contacts inside the key.

Antonio Machado says in February 9th 2010 at 24:03 am

I had not occurred. I will test. Thanks

Antonio Machado says in February 14th 2010 at 11:21 pm

Too bad, but not the switch. Works. It has four contacts, functioning as an inverter, 2-2. I suspected the shaft that connects the key to the switch, but it's not. Patience, nothing to do.
In any case thank you for your help.

Fernando Branco says in March 22nd 2010 at 12:27 pm

Good day, I bought a car recently and found that of 92 has installed a 3185 that is turned off but u want it back. Begin by comparing your online store in a command box to retrieve what I found inside the car in bad condition, but I think the core is good, simply replace the battery. Now my problem will be the pin-code, the command to syncronize. In the alarm module has a sticker on the side with several digits, do you know this reference by the pin-code and not have to go to a dealer? In siren also has a label with several digits, which are not the same as the alarm module.

admin March 22nd 2010 at 1:29 pm

Good afternoon,
When you replace the battery only needs to perform the reset command does not need the pin code, just follow the instructions in the article.
Take this opportunity to ask if he received the control box in perfect condition and within the estimated time?

Is there any way to see if it is active, before moving to the programming command? Do not go I'm waiting for him and he ne program "moves" ... It is true that when I devote to it, I'll see if it is fed and has a blown fuse, at first glance the first thing I did not like besides the state command was interrptor the hood to be out of place, I have to get a nut and puts it back in its rightful position ... will be one horazitas back from him, I hope not unpleasant surprise ...

Não haverá forma de por o alarme fora de serviço para que este permita chegar corrente á bomba de combustivel ??

Se o alarme é Cobra, basta desligar os dois fios verdes do corte de corrente e refazer a ligação.

Dear Admin,
I need your help. I have a 3868 Cobra in SMART for two cabrio .. (Smart's do not have capo) As cabrio motion sensors are always activate the alarm in case of a shake roof with wind or rain. I want to disable these internal sensors and also lower the volume of the buzzer when active / deactivate the alarm. There are two problems in a quiet area late at night cause great discomfort, would be grateful if I could help. I also know that the alarm volume and correct would not move, even now, the 3868 fires in case of opening doors with motion sensors off? Or the alarm is only composed of the motion sensors?

If called correctly switches the alarm port trigger the alarm.
To disable the sensors simply press the button until the LED 5sec after turning off the ignition, hold up a long flash of the LED.
